AFP’s Report The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), which represents 1,60,000 performers, including Hollywood’s famous actors, said on Thursday that it is in talks with studios over demands such as pay cuts and the threat from Artificial Intelligence (AI). has failed. This will be the first time since 1960 that actors and writers will go on strike in this industry. This may delay many popular series returning to television this year. If the strike drags on, then some big films will also be postponed. Actors have made demands such as increased pay and protection against the use of AI in television and films.

“We are deeply disappointed that SAG-AFTRA has decided to withdraw from negotiations. This is the union’s decision, not ours,” the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers said in a statement. Hollywood K Studios called in union representatives for talks to resolve the impasse. However, SAG-AFTRA called it a ploy by the studios. SAG-AFTRA members include popular actors such as Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, and Glenn Close. All its members have agreed to strike-like industrial action if talks with the studios fail.
