Kawasaki is focusing on launching its affordable bikes in India. In this sequence, the company has launched KX 65 and KX 112 in the Indian market. The KX 65 has been launched at Rs 3.12 lakh, while the KX 112 has been launched at Rs 4.87 lakh (ex-showroom). Both the bikes are the smallest engine displacement bikes from Japanese bike manufacturer Kawasaki in India.

However, both these bikes are different from all the other Kawasaki bikes that will be launched in India. This is the reason why these bikes have been launched in India but are out of reach for the customers. That means the company has launched them but cannot sell them in India. Bikes are not street legal
Significantly, both the new Kawasaki bikes, KX 65 and KX 112 have not been given the status of being street legal by the Government of India. That means legally you cannot drive them on public roads. This is because the company has not given such equipment in them, due to which they can be allowed to run legally on the roads.

Let us tell you that bikes like Kawasaki KX 65 and KX 112 are called dirt bikes. They are used in motor sport events. Generally, dirt bikes are not given headlights, tail lights, turn indicators and rear view mirrors to keep them light. Also, it uses a 2-stroke engine which is banned in India. Because of this, they are not given the status of a road bike. Dirt bikes are considered street legal in many countries but these bikes are banned in India due to the mentioned shortcomings.

However, if the company includes the headlight, taillight and turn indicators of the bike as factory fitted accessories, then only these can be considered legal. Talking about the new bikes, the KX 65 gets a 65cc engine, while the KX 112 gets a 112cc engine. Both the bikes are equipped with liquid cooled 2-stroke engine.
