The most popular version of 2023’s Suzuki Jimny four-wheel-drive have been put on hold due to the record-breaking demand and prices of as high as $7000 more than they were a year ago.
According to the first report through Drive, Suzuki Australia stopped accepting new orders for the most popular three-door auto ‘GLX’ model of the Jimny on January 19, 2023, so that production could keep up with the record-setting demand.
Drive reports that Suzuki Australia is currently holding 3500 orders for the Jimny three-door auto – which according to current forecasts for production would translate to waiting times up to 18 months.
3-door hand-operated Suzuki Jimny models remain on sale, since demand for these models compared to the’GLX’ standard model as well as the basic Lite models – aren’t as strong.
Two-tone paint schemes, including dark contrast roofing panels are more prone to delays than single-tone colors.

The latter was designed and manufactured in Australia to prevent shortages in semiconductors.
Mirrors that fold up have also been included in the life of the model and five-year warranties throughout the Suzuki models, introduced in the year 2019.
The models remain powered by an 1.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 75kW (at 600rpm) with 130Nm (at 4000rpm) and is connected to a four-wheel drive system that is part-time with low-range.
Five-speed manual transmissions are available across the entire model, with a four-speed auto available as a $2000 option for the more-equipped standard (or “GLX”) version.
Suzuki Australia claims fuel consumption for mix driving is 6.4 millilitres for 100km in the manual and 6.9L/100km for the auto. The tank of fuel can be able to be able to hold 40 litres. Additional specifications are available at the end of this article.
