Recently, the company quietly launched the ‘Dark Night Edition’ of the R15 V4. This bike has been launched in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.82 lakhs. Yamaha R15 V4 Dark Night Edition uses black body paint with golden highlights giving it an attractive look. The alloy wheels of the bike get golden paint and the people get golden highlights. Currently, the R15 V4 is available in four colors – Red (Rs 1.81 lakh), Dark Knight (Rs 1.82 lakh), Blue and ‘Intensity White’ (Rs 1.86 lakh).

The company has not made any changes in the engine and power of the R15 V4 Dark Night Edition, it comes with the same features and design as its standard model. Talking about the engine, the R15 V4 Dark Night Edition uses the same 155cc liquid cooled, 4 valve engine which generates 18.4hp power and 14.2Nm torque. The bike has been given 6 speed gearbox with sleeper clutch.

Yamaha R15 is the premium sports bike in its segment.

The company uses a delta box frame in the R15 V4, which gives the bike excellent stability. For comfort, the bike uses USD telescopic forks at the front and monoshock suspension unit at the rear. For better safety, this bike is equipped with dual disc brake and dual channel ABS.

compete with
Price wise, the Yamaha R15 V4 competes against the Suzuki Gixxer SF250 (Rs 1.92 lakh to Rs 2.02 lakh) and the KTM RC 200 (Rs 2.18 lakh) in the Indian market. Hero MotoCorp is soon planning to launch the fully-faired Karizma XMR to take on the Yamaha R15 V4 in the segment.
