The Xiaomi 13 series is launching in new markets and will be getting a brand new member called it’s the Xiaomi 13 Lite. It’s a follow-up of previous models, the 12 Lite from last, this one brings speed and camera upgrades. This model is a bit more expensive, but the “lite” name clearly marks it as a mid-ranger however, it’s only less than what the price of the Xiaomi 13 (not to mention the Pro model).
The latest device is powered Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which has an increase of 20% in GPU and 30 percent more AI performance when compared to the Snapdragon 778G that is inside the 12 Lite. But, Xiaomi didn’t update storage or RAM, and is still using LPDDR4X along with UFS 2.2. There are two options available with 8/128GB and eight/256GB. The phone is running MIUI 14 straight out of the box. However, it is important to note that this version is built of Android 12.

Moving to the camera The Xiaomi 13 Lite uses the 50MP Sony IMX766 camera that has been seen in several high-end phones. Its 1/1.56″ sensor has 1.0um Pixels (2.0um with Binning enabled) and an f/1.8 aperture together can capture 123 percent more light than 108MP sensor that had an f/1.9 lens that was on the last the year’s 12 Lite.
This 8MP camera (1/4″ the IMX355) with a 119deg field of view and a 2MP macro camera appear the same as last year’s.
The 32MP camera for selfies has found a new partner and that is a 8MP depth sensor. The two cameras are housed in a camera hole that resembles an island on the display. The depth sensor can be utilized to create natural-looking bokeh effects when taking selfies. The camera features a FoV of 100deg and can automatically adjust the framing of the photo for group shots.
Yes, the design is based on that of the Civi 2, but there are some hardware distinctions. For instance the Civi comes with two 32MP cameras on the front and only one features a 100deg lens. Additionally, it comes with an ultra-wide 20MP camera.
Its Xiaomi 13 Lite has a curve-shaped 6.55″ AMOLED screen. It’s a 12-bit panel equipped with Dolby Vision support and HDR10+. It utilizes PWM dimming at 1,920Hz. It also is rated at 500 nits. The peak is around 1,000 nits.
This display comes with 1,080 x 2400 pixels resolution (20:9) and is running with a 120Hz rate of refresh, and 240Hz rate for touch sampling. It is protected by curvature Gorilla Glass 5. The glass is on the back too (not GG) The frame is made of plastic. The phone comes with an IP53 rating to resist water and dust.
Its battery is upgraded from last year’s model and is nearly a match to Xiaomi 13’s Xiaomi 13 battery. It’s got the same capacity of 4,500mAh (+200mAh in comparison to the 12. Light) as well as the identical 67W wireless charging capability and can charge to 100% in just 40 minutes. It does not support wireless charging however.
Some other features to discuss include Dolby Atmos audio for the phone, and wireless connectivity, which includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC support (note: NFC is not available in all regions). This phone is dual-SIM with 5G support due to its Snapdragon the X62 processor.
The brand new Lite phone is up to its name and weighs in at 171g. It also measures 7.23mm in thickness. The colors available at launch include Lite Blue, Lite Pink and Black. The base version of 8/128GB costs EUR499 and is available starting March 8th.
