Ola Electric, the country’s largest selling electric two-wheeler company, has increased the price of its electric scooters S1 and S1 Pro. In India, the central government has reduced the FAME-2 subsidy rate to just 15% from 1 June 2023.
In such a situation, the subsidy that the electric vehicle manufacturers used to get has reduced. In such a situation, some EV companies will bear this burden themselves and most of the companies are going to pass this burden on the customers by increasing the price of their products.

Ola Electric has now done the same. Customers will now have to shell out at least Rs 15,000 more when they buy electric scooters from Ola Electric. Soon other electric scooter manufacturers may also announce a price hike.
The S1 electric scooter is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), according to Ola Electric’s website, with the model expected to cost Rs 1.15 lakh by May 2023. The Ola S1 electric scooter offers a range of 141 kilometers on a single charge.

On the other hand, talking about the price of Ola Electric’s flagship scooter S1 Pro, now its price has become Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom) which used to be Rs 1.25 lakh earlier. It has a battery with 4 kWh capacity.
This electric scooter can travel 181 km on a single charge and has a top speed of 116 km/h. Ola Electric has also launched a third model, Ola S1 Air, which is made available in three variants.
The price of S1 Air starts from Rs 85,000 and the mid and top variants cost Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Its delivery has not started yet, its delivery will be started from next month.
The S1 Air is available in three versions – 2kWh, 3kWh and 4kWh. It gets a 4.5kW motor. It offers a range of 85 km, 125 km and 165 km depending on the electric battery.
Ola offers 3 years extended warranty on the S1 Air electric scooter and comes with a digital key and console. The bookings for Ola S1 Air have already started but test drives, purchase and delivery will now start in July.
