Ather 450S: Ather 450S New Electric Scooter Details

Ather Energy has trademarked the name ‘450S’ of a new electric scooter. The company is about to expand its portfolio and bring a cheaper version of the existing 450X electric scooter. It is going to come with slightly less features and equipment.

This is a great move from Aether so that no one else can copy it. The Ather 450X electric scooter has been a successful electric scooter in India since its launch and the reason for this is its features, performance and build quality.

Ather is now bringing this new electric scooter keeping affordability in mind. Customers may get a full-colour TFT touchscreen display in the new scooter but Ather has replaced it with a greyscale one in the standard 450X.

Along with this, features like 4G connectivity, music and call access, guide me home light and hill assist will not be provided in 450S, as these are not considered necessary in a scooter. The company is only going to focus on the essentials including the range.

The Ather 450S could be built on a tubular frame instead of the aluminum space frame found on the 450X. At the same time, a smaller battery pack and less powerful motor can be found in this upcoming electric scooter. These reductions can reduce the cost of this scooter.

The Ather 450X is currently offered in two variants – Standard and Pro Pack, with the Pro Pack being the costlier variant. This variant is priced up to Rs 30,000 less than the current standard variant, which costs Rs 1.19 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Through the Ather 450S variant, the company wants to cater to such customers who are looking for a practical and budget electric scooter. Its price will also be kept low so that the customer can also take advantage of the Fame-2 scheme.

Let us tell you that Ather was selling the charger as a separate accessory. On this, the government says that it is not right to do so. For this reason, the government wants Ather to return the money taken from the customers. Ather has agreed to return the money.

Under the FAME-2 scheme, the government provides subsidy to electric two-wheeler manufacturers and buyers and Rs 10,000 crore has been allotted for this. But to take advantage of this subsidy, the companies used to sell the necessary equipment separately along with the scooter.
