Electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy has started production of the Simple One electric scooter at its factory in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu. After a long wait, the production of the Simple One electric scooter has been launched, and is slated to launch soon.
Simple One Electric Scooter is to be launched in the market on May 23 and the company claims that the battery of this electric scooter follows the highest safety standards. At the same time, the company says that it will be the country’s most range electric scooter.
Through Simple One Electric Scooter, the company is about to eliminate the fear of range from the mind of customers buying Electric Scooters. The company claims that the Simple One electric scooter can travel up to 200 kilometers on a single charge.
Additionally, the electric scooter comes with a powerful 8.5kW (11.4bhp) electric motor, which produces 72Nm of torque and is powered by a 4.8kWh battery pack. It can attain a top speed of 105 km/h.
With an additional battery pack, it offers a range of 300 km. The Simple One offers a range of 236 km on Eco mode. With the help of its charger Simple Loop, the Simple One electric scooter gets charged up to 2.5 km range in just 60 seconds.
At home, the inbuilt battery charges 0-100 percent in 2.75 hours, while the removable battery takes an additional 75 minutes to charge. In this case, it takes a total of 4 hours to charge both the batteries.
Whereas, the Simple One electric scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.77 seconds. We estimate that the price of this electric scooter can be around Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). Its booking has already been started.
The company may have delayed a bit but is coming with full preparation. The startup company recently raised $20 million (Rs 165 crore) to ramp up production of the Simple One electric scooter at its Shulgiri factory.
Simple Energy has a 2,00,000 sq ft manufacturing plant at Shoolgiri with a general assembly line. At the same time, the company has the country’s patented in-house motor manufacturing line, battery manufacturing line and cell storage.
