New Delhi. SUV cars are spreading differently in India. From common man to politicians everyone likes SUV cars. If we talk about the leaders, nowadays mostly SUV cars of Ford, Toyota and Mahindra are seen in their convoy. But there was one car which had become the favorite of the people in the country long before all these cars. In India, this car was the first choice of not only politicians but also celebrities. That car was the Mitsubishi Pajero.

Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi launched the Pajero globally in 1982 while it was introduced in India in 2002. Pajero was brought in India in partnership with Hindustan Motors. It became very popular due to its powerful engine and offroading capabilities. Due to its muscular look and many features, it became the first choice of politicians.

the engine was strong
Mitsubishi Pajero was launched in 2002 at a price of Rs 19.7 lakh (ex-showroom). In view of the demand, the company launched its updated model in 2006. At that time, this dashing SUV was given an update of 2.8 liter 4 cylinder SOHC diesel engine. The biggest feature of this vehicle was its off-road nature. Thanks to its 4-wheel drive system, this SUV was adept at running on rough roads and due to this it became popular among people who are fond of off-roading.

Hot Selling Pajero Sport
Mitsubishi launched the Pajero Sport in India in the year 2012. At that time it was brought with great updates. The company was now offering a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder DOHC engine in it. Along with this, it was also updated with manual as well as automatic gearbox.

Company stopped production
Mitsubishi had already discontinued the Pajero in the domestic market of Japan but was producing it due to the demand in the international market. Due to the heavy losses caused by the Corona epidemic, the company has ended its business in many markets. Whereas in India, the company sold the last Pajero car in 2021. Currently, Mitsubishi is not selling new cars in India.
