The features in this car were so much that even a super premium car would compete with it, but the result was nothing. There was no effect on the sales of the Fortuner. On the contrary, the condition of Ford got so bad that due to falling sales in the country, the company closed its business. Something similar happened with Chevrolet as well. Chevrolet launched the Captiva SUV. This SUV also flopped. Chevrolet’s sales continued to decline and the company gradually consolidated its business from India.
Now in this race, to make off-roading vehicles and SUVs, the famous company Jeep made up its mind to compete with Fortuner a year ago. The company launched an affordable variant of its SUV Meridian in the market. Its price was around Rs 15 lakh cheaper than the Fortuner. This vehicle was Meridian Limited (O) (Jeep Meridian). Its ex-showroom price was Rs. 38.10 lakhs ex-showroom. Now the company has removed this car from its official website. Although Jeep has not yet disclosed why the company has discontinued this SUV.

Was giving competition on the basis of features
With regard to the limited features coming in the Fortuner, till now car companies have been launching cars equipped with the best features in front of it. Jeep did something similar. The company had given many great features like 10.1-inch infotainment system, fully digital driver display, ventilated seats, wireless phone charging, 360 degree camera, Apple Car Play and Android Auto in the base variant of Meridian.

This engine could generate 350 Nm of torque. The company also gave the option of 6 speed manual and 9 speed automatic gearbox.
