Maruti Fronx: Maruti Suzuki revealed its new compact SUV Fronx (Fronx) at the Auto Expo 2023 on 12 January. Along with presenting it to the audience, the company had started booking it. Now information is coming in that Fronx has received bookings of around 1,500 units within just five days i.e. till 16th January. It is being told that the launch has already reached its waiting period of five months.

Let us tell you that the company had also introduced Jimny at the Auto Expo. The Maruti Jimny is the company’s first off-roader SUV that will take on the Mahindra Thar side by side in the Indian market. At present, the company has not disclosed the prices of both these SUVs. But reports speculate that the Fronx SUV will be priced between Rs 6.50-11 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Jimny could be priced between Rs 9-13 lakh (ex-showroom).
At present, the company has not shared information about the launch date of both the SUVs, but reports are claiming that the company may start selling them from April, 2023.
In terms of design, the Maruti Fronx looks similar to the bigger Baleno model. The front gets a large grille with chrome slots, LED DRL lights and LED headlight on the bumper. Fox skid plates have been given at the front and rear of the SUV. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels that sport a new design and look very different from other cars from the brand. As far as dimensions are concerned, the Franks measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,550 mm in height and 1,765 mm in width which is similar to the Baleno.
Maruti has introduced the Fronx SUV in two petrol engines. Which includes the first 1.0-litre booster jet engine that generates 100 bhp power and 147 Nm torque. This engine is equipped with 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. While the other engine is the 1.2-litre K-series engine that produces 90 Bhp power and 113 Nm torque. This engine has been given the option of 5-speed manual and AMT automatic transmission. The company has not given the option of All Wheel Drive (AWD) in this SUV.

Like the Baleno, the company will sell it through its Maruti Nexa dealerships. When launched in India, it will compete with compact SUV models like the Citroën C3, Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
