Google’s Pixel smartphones have never taken off in India. The last Pixel 4a smartphone that reached India in 2020 was the Pixel 6a. There was a huge gap between the Pixel 3XL and Pixel 3 launched in India in 2018 before the Pixel 6a. Customers in India, who were looking for Google’s premium Pixel phones, never received anything more than the Pixel 3 series.

The Pixel 6a represents a significant upgrade over the Pixel 4a which was Google’s final smartphone to reach India. The Pixel 6a is a big upgrade over the previous model, but it also comes with a price increase.
The design uses a glass panel on the front and a plastic rear panel, which are both held together with an aluminium frame. It feels solid but is not premium because the plastic panel attracts dust and smudges.
The 60Hz refresh rate screen does not allow for a fluid software performance, but it is still the latest version of Android 13, with no bloatware.
The camera performs well in any lighting condition, but the video quality is a little lacking. The battery life is sufficient for a full day of use, but charging takes a long time.
