New Delhi. Almost two years after discontinuing the original HomePod, Apple has finally launched its second generation HomePod speaker in India. The new Apple smart speaker is equipped with advanced computational audio, humidity sensor, refined design and many other features. It is made from 100 percent recycled fabric. The company says that it is equipped with HomePod S7 chip. A new multicamera view has also been included in this.

The new Apple HomePod has been launched in India at a price of Rs 32,900. It is available in White and Midnight color variants. It is currently available for pre-order in India on Apple’s official store. If it is sold, then customers will be able to buy it on 3 February.
Features of Apple HomePod (2nd Gen)
The new HomePod comes with a mesh exterior. The company has claimed that it is made of 100 percent recycled fabric. The speaker comes with a backlit touch surface and is cylindrical in design. It can also be used with Siri. Users can listen to a playlist of over 100 million songs with Apple Music and enjoy spatial audio on the new speaker.

System-Sensing Technology
Talking about the chipset, it is powered by the S7 chip. According to the company, the S7 chip has been combined with system-sensing technology to deliver advanced computational audio to more users. It comes with a 20mm driver with an in-built EQ mic. Through this, two speakers can be used simultaneously as an in-home intercom system to broadcast messages.

Temperature and humidity sensor
With the help of new temperature and humidity sensors, Apple HomePod can now measure indoor temperature and this will allow users to perform automation like turning on the fan. It comes with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, which notify iPhone users when the phone is away.

Additionally, the redesigned Home app now allows users to navigate through new categories such as climate, light and security. A new multicamera view has also been included in this. The new HomePod will work with the iPhone SE (second gen) and iPhone 8 and later devices running iOS 16.3. Apart from this, it runs in iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation) and iPad Air (3rd generation) and or iPad mini (generation) and iPadOS 16.3.
