Hyundai’s affordable sunroof ‘Chhotu’ SUV will give direct competition to Punch

New Delhi. Even before the launch, a lot of buzz has been created about the Hyundai Exter in the Indian automobile market. The direct competition of this car will be from Tata Punch SUV in the market which is currently very popular in India and has created a huge customer base. Now Exeter will give it a direct challenge in the market. If you are also preparing to buy Exter, then you will not have to wait much longer.

The company will launch in the Indian market on July 10 in India. After the launch of this car, the competition in this segment is going to get tougher. The company is about to launch it in the micro SUV segment. Now the company has officially unveiled its exterior.

Hyundai Xterra Interior
The steering wheel and dashboard design of the Exter is very similar to the Grand i10 Nios and Aura, first of all, the interiors get an all-black color scheme instead of the grey/black or bronze/black interiors of the Nios and Aura respectively. The Exter also gets a full-digital instrument cluster with a 4.2-inch MID which is similar to the more expensive Hyundai cars like the i20 and the Verna.

Sunroof will also be available
The high-end variants will get the same 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system as its sibling. The Exeter gets three-point seat belts for all three rear passengers and an AC vent for the second row, but misses out on the rear center armrest. Hyundai has also announced that the Exter will get connected car technology, voice-activated commands in multiple languages ​​and over-the-air (OTA) updates for the infotainment system and maps. The higher variants will also get automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-built navigation and a sunroof, among other features.

Hyundai XTER Powertrain
The Exter will get Hyundai’s tried and tested 83hp, 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine – available on the Venue, Nios and Aura – and a factory-fitted CNG kit. The petrol engine can be had with a 5-speed manual or AMT automatic transmission, while the CNG gets only a manual transmission.

Hyundai Xter Bookings & Rivals
Deliveries for the Exeter are likely to begin by mid-July, and bookings are currently underway for Rs.11,000. When launched, the Exter will rival the Tata Punch, Citroen C3 and Maruti Ignis.
