New Delhi. The country’s largest carmaker Maruti has updated the features of its SUV Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. These updates will be seen only in hybrid variants. According to the regulatory filing, the company has added a new feature for the safety of pedestrians in this SUV. This feature has been named ‘Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System’ (AVAS).

The company told that this feature will not only alert the presence of a pedestrian, but will also alert the presence of a vehicle nearby. Under this feature, a sound alert will be generated which will be audible to the pedestrians as well i.e. pedestrians in the range of 5 feet from the vehicle will also be able to get the alert of the presence of the car.

increased price
The company has also updated the price along with the features of the car. Now the price of this car has increased by Rs 4,000. This increased price has come into effect from 17 July 2023. This car is available with Zeta Plus and Alpha Plus variants. Its price is between Rs 18.49 lakh to Rs 19.84 lakh. This car has less time in the market but its customer base is increasing rapidly.

Engine & Power
The Grand Vitara Hybrid version is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine which is paired with an electric motor and a battery pack. While the engine is tuned to produce 91bhp and 122Nm of torque, the electric motor produces 79bhp. This hybrid powertrain outputs 114bhp and is mated to an e-CVT unit.
