San Francisco. According to media reports, Meta (formerly Facebook) is reportedly set to launch another round of massive layoffs on Wednesday, which could see at least 4,000 high-skilled employees fired. According to a Vox report citing sources, this week’s layoffs could range as high as 4,000.

In March, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company would cut 10,000 jobs in the coming months.

The Washington Post quoted a company memo as saying that Meta has said the company will begin notifying employees on its technical team who are being laid off. The report added that Meta will also announce newly restructured teams and management hierarchies.

Facebook parent company Meta will announce details on Wednesday about new job cuts, part of a months-long downsizing and restructuring effort that will lay off 10,000 employees, the Washington Post tweeted on Wednesday.

In March, Zuckerberg announced plans to lay off an additional 10,000 employees through several phases of job cuts in the coming months.

Overall, we expect to reduce the size of our team by approximately 10,000 people and close approximately 5,000 additional open role positions that we have not yet filled, Zuckerberg said.

The latest cut comes just four months after the company laid off 11,000 employees or 13 per cent of its workforce in November last year.(IANS)
