A sedan car from Volkswagen, a German company that sells cars in India, has left behind even Tata’s cars in the safety rating. We are talking Volkswagen Virtus (Volkswagen Virtus) in which top class safety has been given. This sedan car has received a 5 star rating for safety in the Global NCAP crash test. The special thing is that it has been given 5-stars in both adult and child protection.

Safer than Honda City
Virtus is also safer than the Honda City coming in its segment. Honda City achieved a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. The only car in the sedan segment that is as safe as the Virtus is the Skoda Slavia. Both the cars share the same design platform.

Volkswagen Virtus price ranges between Rs 11.47 Lakh to Rs 18.76 Lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). It has been introduced in two variants – Dynamic Line (Comfortline, Highline, Topline) and Performance Line (GT Plus). There are two petrol engine options available in the Virtus. The first engine is a 1-litre petrol engine that generates 115PS of power and 178Nm of torque. The other engine, on the other hand, is a 1.5-litre petrol unit that produces 150PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque. The car gets the option of 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and 6-speed manual transmission.

The Virtus includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start/stop and a fully digital driver’s display. It also gets features like a single-pane sunroof, connected car technology, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and rain-sensing wipers. In terms of safety, it gets 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorage and rear parking sensors.
