According to the SIAM report, 2,93,303 units were sold in April 2022, whereas in April 2023 it increased to 3,31,278 units. This was the wholesale figure which means how many vehicles the car companies delivered to the dealers.

Maruti wins again
During this, Maruti Suzuki India sent 1,37,320 cars to the dealers. Whereas in April a year ago, this figure was 1,21,995 units. On the other hand, Hyundai Motors delivered 49,701 units to dealers in April, as against 44,001 units a year ago.
Two wheelers sales up by 15%
According to SIAM, the wholesale sales of two-wheelers increased by 15 percent to 13,38,588 units as of April 2022, from 11,62,582 units a year ago. At the same time, wholesale sales of three-wheelers increased to 42,885 units.
Vinod Agarwal, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said good monsoon rains, among other factors, could help sustain growth in the sector going forward. SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said that the sale of passenger vehicles last month has been the highest ever in April of any year.
