Samsung tab s6 lite – All specification and Features

The Samsung Tab S6 Lite, a new tablet from Samsung, is a great addition to the lineup. This is the less expensive version, as its name implies, of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, that I reviewed in late 2013. The Galaxy Tab S6 has a quad-speaker AMOLED screen, a powerful processor and an AMOLED display. However, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite only has a dual-speaker TFT display and a weaker processor. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes in Wi-Fi or LTE versions and costs Rs. Samsung had to reduce costs to bring out this new Lite version. But is it good enough to recommend, or does it not meet the standard? Find out more.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite design

From the front, the Samsung Tab S6 Light is very similar to the Galaxy Tab S6. (Review). However, the 10.4-inch screen is slightly smaller. The tablet has thick bezels which are acceptable for a device of this size. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, at 7mm thick is thinner than many of the smartphones that I have recently reviewed. The tablet is 467g, which makes it noticeable when used for long periods of time with just one hand. Two handed use was comfortable for me.

The Samsung Tab S6 Lite comes in three colors: Angora Blue (ours), Oxford Gray (Oxford Gray), and Chiffon Pink.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with a 3.5mm jack at the top, along with a secondary mic and a speaker that fires upward. Bixby can be activated by pressing the power button to the right. The SIM tray can be found slightly lower. It accepts one Nano-SIM card and a microSD. Magnets are located on the lower right side of the tablet to hold the S Pen stylus. The S Pen that comes with this tablet does not include Bluetooth.

The left side is blank, but magnets are provided if you want to add optional accessories such as the Book Cover case. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features a USB Type C port at the bottom of the tablet, as well as a second speaker. This tablet only has a single camera at the back, unlike the dual cameras of the Galaxy Tab S6. Top and bottom are surrounded by antenna lines. In the middle of the back, you’ll find the Samsung logo. The lower half has ‘Sound By AKG’. Samsung also includes a 7.75W charging cable in the box.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 LITE specifications and software: not very impressive

Samsung has used its own Exynos 9611 SoC to lower the price. This is a chip that we’ve seen in entry-level smartphones such as the Galaxy M21Samsung used the Exynos 9611 processor, which is found in entry-level smartphones like Galaxy M21 and Review. The tablet has also 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. MicroSD cards can expand storage by up to one terabyte.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a 10.4″ TFT LCD display with a resolution of 2000×1200 pixels. It’s not a Galaxy Tab S6 AMOLED screen, so the content isn’t as vibrant and the colours aren’t as vibrant as I’d like. It’s surprising that there is no fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy Tab S5e( Review), had a side mounted scanner, while the Galaxy Tab S6 comes with an in-display scanner. Face recognition is available.

The LTE model I received for review supports both 4G data connectivity and calling. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite also offers Bluetooth 5, dual band Wi-Fi ac and four satellite navigation systems. The usual set of sensors is also included. This tablet comes with a battery of 7040mAh and a charger of 7.75W.

Samsung ships the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite running Android 10 with One UI 2.0. The March security patch was installed on my review unit. This tablet will feel familiar if you have used a Samsung smartphone. The interface looks almost identical to that of a Samsung smartphone, but certain elements have been scaled up, like the dialler or quick toggles.

You can also run up to five applications in pop-up view. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has the traditional Android navigation buttons on the bottom of display. However, you can switch to gesture navigation. Samsung’s Smart Stay keeps the screen on for as long as it is in your view.

The device is not bloated with a lot of software, which is good. Pre-installed apps include Netflix, YouTube Music and Google Play. Samsung and Google have partnered to provide four months of YouTube premium with the device.

Galaxy Tab S6 Lite supports the standard S Pen features, such as Air Command or Samsung Capture. Pressing the button of the S Pen near the screen will bring up a floating list with shortcuts to Smart select, Smart Write, Live messages AR doodle and Notes. Here you can add shortcuts for your favorite apps.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite performance

Let’s begin with the stereo speakers and display. Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Lite panel is good, but I expected more. The panel is bright enough but not very bright. Outside, it’s quite reflective. Unfortunately, I could not find a way of changing the color profile. The audio output is excellent and stereo sound is available when you view content in landscape mode. Dolby Atmos is also available and makes a difference.

As the S Pen does not have Bluetooth, it cannot be used to remotely shutter the camera as is possible with the Galaxy Tab S6. When the tablet is on standby, you can press the button with the S Pen and tap the screen to quickly take notes.

The tablet is a great multitasking device. Its 4GB RAM allows it to run the majority of applications in memory. Split screen was easy to use and the tablet remained responsive even when five pop-ups were opened at once. Face recognition didn’t perform as advertised. During my review it failed the majority of the time, so I had to resort to using a PIN.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite performed well with my normal usage, which included watching YouTube videos and playing Clash Royale or Idle Miner Tycoon. Although heavier apps and games were slower to load than I expected, there was no sign of lag. Asphalt 9: Legends was playable at default settings, but there were some stutters in certain races. Galaxy Tab S6 Lite can handle casual gaming but not heavy games.
You can write immediately after the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite wakes up. Palm rejection was excellent and I could place my palm on the large display while using the S Pen. The Notes app has handwriting recognition that lets you turn whatever you scribble into text.

I used my cellular SIM card to connect to the Internet, without Wi-Fi. I was able to make phone calls on the tablet and they were automatically routed through the stereo speakers. It’s not ideal, as anyone in the vicinity can easily hear your conversation. For calls, you can use a Bluetooth or wired headset.

Benchmarking the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite revealed how it compares to its siblings. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite scored 346 points and 1,186 in Geekbench single-core and multiple-core tests, respectively. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite could reach 25fps on GFXBench for the T-Rex scene and 12fps on Manhattan 3.1. When it comes to performance, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite doesn’t have much of a punch.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite battery lasted two days with my typical usage. The 7,040mAh batteries does not need to be charged frequently. The charger supplied is slow. In one hour, I could only get a 29 percent battery charge. It takes over three hours to charge it fully. In our HD video loop tests, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite lasted for about the same amount of time as the Galaxy Tab S6.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes with a single rear 8-megapixel camera and a front 5-megapixel camera. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite takes good daylight photos with sufficient detail. I can’t imagine many people using a tablet of this size as a serious camera. This device will be used more for selfies and video calls. The quality of the camera is good and I didn’t hear any complaints from those I spoke with.

The camera is located at the top, so it’s very easy to accidentally block the screen when using the tablet in landscape. The field of view was narrow for video calls.
