However, modern cars and bikes are equipped with more safety and security features than before, due to which these cases have come down considerably. Nevertheless, many clever thieves bypass these security systems and commit thefts. One such case has come to the fore recently.
Here is the theft of a Toyota Fortuner which took less than 2 minutes. This entire act of the vicious thief was captured in CCTV. It is seen in the video footage that the thief is coming on the scooter riding on the back seat. He gets off the scooter and within seconds unlocks the car and opens the door. It seems as if the car alarm starts ringing as we can see the hazard lamps flashing.

police filed a complaint
After this the thief leaves with the car without any hassle. The incident is from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Police has registered a complaint and is probing the matter. However, they are still trying to identify the thief. Older models do not have modern anti theft features. Features like remote control lock, steering lock and gear lock protect the cars from theft.

It will take time to make foolproof system
While manufacturers are constantly working on enhancing the safety features of the cars to counter the tech-savvy criminals, it may take a long time to develop a foolproof system. Meanwhile, it is advised to rely on safety features like GPS monitoring system to track the location of the vehicle, which offer an extra layer of security.
