New Delhi. The dominance of CNG cars is increasing in India. This is the reason that now car companies are increasing the number of their CNG models in the market. People prefer CNG cars because of more mileage. Where a petrol car gives an average mileage of 14-18 kmpl. Whereas a CNG car easily gives a mileage of 20-25 km/kg. The cost of CNG is less than petrol and it becomes very economical to run them due to getting more mileage.

Like petrol cars, Maruti Suzuki also rules the CNG car market. Maruti’s share in CNG passenger car is 69%. The extent of Maruti’s stake can only be gauged from the fact that the company has sold 1,15,484 CNG cars in six months of 2023. Maruti continues to expand the number of CNG models. Recently the carmaker has launched its new crossover SUV Fronx (Maruti Suzuki Fronx) in CNG. Significantly, this car can create trouble for Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
