Riding Without Helmet: CCTV cameras installed on the road identify those who violate the traffic rules, but now they are also catching those who cheat in the relationship. Yes! Recently something similar has happened in Kerala.
In Kerala’s Idukki, a man was caught cheating on his wife because of a traffic challan. In fact, on April 25, this man was roaming on a scooty with his female companion without wearing a helmet. The recording of his act was done by the traffic camera installed on the road. The scooty on which the person was roaming was registered in the name of his wife.
The very next day, the Kerala Police sent the photograph of the man along with the traffic challan to his wife’s registered mobile number. The wife was shocked to see the picture of her husband with another woman. When the wife asked who is the woman sitting behind in the scooty, her handiwork was exposed.
Let us tell you that the Kerala Motor Vehicles Department is using 726 cameras with artificial intelligence, which take pictures of traffic violators and send them along with challans to the vehicle owner’s registered number. The person was not wearing a helmet while driving the scooty that day, due to which the camera clearly recorded his picture.
According to sources, the picture of the person driving the scooty without wearing a helmet was recorded in the CCTV camera. Since his wife was the owner of the vehicle, an intimation about the challan was sent to her phone.
To prove his innocence, the man said that the woman sitting on the scooty belonged to his office and he was just giving her a lift. Later, the wife filed a complaint against her husband for misbehaving with their three-year-old child. Based on the wife’s complaint, the man was detained under IPC sections 321 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 294 (obscene acts) and section 75 (assault or neglect of a child) of the Juvenile Justice Act had been taken.
The man was later produced before a court and sent to judicial custody after his bail plea was rejected.
