Chandrayaan-3 (Chandrayaan-3) mission was launched on Friday. The mission took off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 2.35 pm. The LVM3-M4 rocket lifted Chandrayaan-3 into Earth’s orbit 16 minutes after launch. Chandrayaan is now moving towards the moon. The Indian Space Agency ISRO has said that the Chandrayaan-3 mission is progressing smoothly. ISRO has also given information about the date and time of when it can land on the moon.

According to PTI, Indian Space Research Organisation’s chairman S. Somnath said on Friday that ‘Chandrayaan-3’ will attempt a soft landing on the technically challenging lunar surface on August 23. He told that the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 is planned to be done on August 23 at 5.47 pm. Before that, on August 1, Chandrayaan can be installed in the orbit of the moon.

Significantly, in the year 2019, the lander of Chandrayaan-2 mission crashed on the surface of the moon. Soon after that, India started preparations for the third Moon mission. ISRO scientists were working day and night for the last several months to make the mission successful. Special attention has been paid this time to ensure that there is no problem in the landing of Chandrayaan-3. Like Chandrayaan-2, the lander of Chandrayaan-3 has also been named Vikram.

The mission has been designed in such a way that it can be landed on the moon in any case. On August 23, when the lander ‘Vikram’ will try to land on the lunar surface and there is a problem, it can be landed at another place as well. The objective of this mission is to successfully land on the Moon and prove the capabilities of walking there. So far three countries – America, Soviet Union and China have been able to land their missions on the Moon.
